But...seeing as I am a licensed cosmetologist, and that I'm moving to Washington in the spring, I would have to transfer my license to get a cosmetology related job.
Here's the rundown of what I need to do and all the fun it contains
Application for Reciprocity: $40 dollars out of state
Certification of License in Nebraska: $5 dollars
National Interstate Council of Cosmetology(NIC) written exam score
National Interstate Council of Cosmetology(NIC) practical exam. (Nebraska does not require practical examinations for cosmetology licensing)
Application for NIC practical exam: $119 dollars.
So it roughly adds up to be $164 dollars to get a stupid cosmetology license for Washington state if you live out of state.
Or, I could just keep up my Nebraska license every two years for the cost of an continuing education (CE) class and a $30 dollar renewal fee and the cost to get to Nebraska to take the class. Fortunately, Nebraska requires 8 CE hours every two years to keep your license.
So, consider your options when choosing a career.
